Designed for racing yachts and offshore sailing, the B&G VMHU 1450mm is a high-precision vertical anemometer. With a height of 1450 mm, this masthead unit is positioned to capture undisturbed airflow above the mast, ensuring accurate measurement of wind speed and angle—critical for performance calculations and tactical decisions at sea.
Design and Technical Specifications
The VMHU 1450mm integrates a high-modulus carbon mast and reinforced plastic anemometer cups, housed in a UV-resistant plastic casing. These materials are selected for their ability to withstand extreme offshore sailing conditions. The unit operates on 12V and weighs approximately 1.5 kg. Approximate dimensions are 305 mm in width by 102 mm in depth. Installation is via 4 holes of 5 mm diameter, requiring M5 bolts.
Integration and Reliability
This analog wind sensor is compatible with B&G WPT3, H3000, and H5000 systems, as well as H5000 processors and Triton² displays.
