Designed for onboard charging of mobile devices, the Blue Sea Systems 1016200-BSS dual USB 2.1A 12/24V charger provides reliable power to phones and tablets. Operating on 12V or 24V electrical systems, it delivers a total output current of 2.1A via its two USB 2.0 Type A ports. This charger features intelligent device recognition for optimized charging.
Marine Design and Integrated Protection
The 1016200-BSS is equipped with a conformal-coated PCB to withstand marine environments. It includes internal filtering to reduce electronic interference, as well as protections against overheating, short circuits, and reverse polarity, ensuring the safety of connected devices and the boat’s electrical system. A protective cap keeps debris and moisture out of the USB ports when not in use. Installation is via a 1-1/8" (29 mm) diameter mounting hole, with 1/4" (6.4 mm) quick-connect terminals.
Position in the Blue Sea Systems Range
This charger is positioned as a standard solution within the Blue Sea Systems range. Compared to the 1039 and 1045 models, which offer a total output of 4.8A for 12/24V systems, the 1016200-BSS with its 2.1A output is ideal for moderate charging needs or as a supplementary solution. It also differs from 48V chargers (models 1038 and 1046) designed for specific applications such as golf carts. The 1016200-BSS is a "socket" type charger, similar to the 1045 and 1046 models, contrasting with the "contura switch" models (1038 and 1039) which integrate into existing switch openings.
