The FURUNO I3 satellite TV antenna, with a 37 cm parabolic dish diameter, is designed for television reception at sea. This compact system integrates Wide Range Search (WRS) and Dynamic Beam Tilting (DBT) technologies for rapid signal acquisition and stable connection maintenance, even in motion. Weighing 9 kg with a height of 44 cm and a radome diameter of 43 cm, it is suitable for vessels 8 meters and longer.
Reception and Performance
The I3 antenna operates in the Ku band (10.7 ~ 12.75 GHz) and supports both circular and linear polarizations. It offers an elevation range of +10° to +80° and an azimuth of 680°. Its ship motion compensation handles rolls of +/-25° and pitches of +/-15°, with a rotation rate of 60° per second. The system guarantees a minimum signal strength (EIRP) of 50 dBW.
Connectivity and Integration
Equipped with an integrated GPS for rapid signal acquisition, the I3 TV antenna features two decoder outputs to connect multiple receivers. The Antenna Control Unit (ACU) includes an HD module and an NMEA 0183 interface for connection to the vessel’s GPS system. Wi-Fi connectivity via the ACU facilitates diagnostics and updates. Power requirement is 9 to 30 Vdc, with a typical consumption of 30W.
