OP03-239 Retrofit Kit for DRS4DNXT (adapter for old DRS cable)

The FURUNO OP03-239 Retrofit Kit is designed to ease the transition to FURUNO’s DRS4DNXT radar system by allowing the use of existing DRS cabling. This adapter eliminates the need for full rewiring during an upgrade, simplifying installation and reducing associated costs.

Connectivity and compatibility

This retrofit kit is intended for users looking to integrate a DRS4DNXT radar into their existing marine setup. The DRS4DNXT is a solid-state pulse-compression Doppler radar with an output power of 25W, equivalent to a 4 kW magnetron radar. It features a 24-inch (61 cm) radome and offers rotation speeds of 24, 36, or 48 RPM. Its maximum range is 36 nautical miles, with a horizontal beam width of 3.9° (adjustable between 2° and 3.9° with RezBoost™) and a vertical beam width of 25°.

Advanced features of the DRS4DNXT radar

By enabling connection to the DRS4DNXT, the OP03-239 kit unlocks radar functions such as Target Analyzer™, which uses Doppler technology to instantly identify hazardous targets by color-coding them (red for approaching targets, green for stationary or receding targets). The Fast Target Tracking™ function displays speed and heading vectors for selected targets within seconds, and Auto Target Acquire triggers an alarm for potentially hazardous targets within a 3-nautical-mile radius.

The DRS4DNXT also includes Bird Mode for optimized bird detection, RezBoost™ Beam Sharpening for improved image resolution and target separation, and Rain Mode to visualize rain cells in blue. The radar operates on 12–24 VDC power and requires no external power unit. It meets IP26 waterproofing standards and can track up to 100 ARPA targets. The kit includes two rubber gaskets for installation.
