Display and construction

The device is equipped with a 7.6 cm (3-inch) diagonal color LCD touchscreen with a 640x360 pixel RGB resolution, providing clear visibility of dive data. Its construction combines sapphire glass, a fiber-reinforced polymer case and bezel, and sealed metal buttons, ensuring resistance to demanding underwater environments. The Descent™ X50i uses the Bühlmann ZHL-16c algorithm with configurable gradient factors for decompression calculations. It supports various dive modes, including single-gas open circuit, multi-gas (with a bottom gas and up to 11 decompression/rescue mixes), closed-circuit rebreather (CCR), and gauge modes. It is compatible with air, nitrox, trimix, and 100% oxygen, with configurable partial pressure of oxygen (PO2) up to 2.0 ATA. The battery offers up to 13 hours of runtime at high brightness, 16 hours at medium brightness (default), and 20 hours in night dive mode. It features 32 GB of internal memory.

Connectivity and underwater safety

The SubWave™ sonar technology allows divers to send predefined messages to other connected divers up to 30 meters away and monitor their tank pressure, depth, and distance (up to 8 divers within a 10-meter radius) when paired with an optional Descent T2 transceiver.
