Designed for recreational boaters and professionals navigating the waters of Mexico, the Caribbean, and Brazil, the Garmin Navionics+ (NSSA004L) and Navionics Platinum+ (NPSA004L) marine charts provide a comprehensive charting solution. These charts integrate Garmin and Navionics data for optimized navigation on coastal and inland waters, typically supplied on a microSD™/SD™ card.
Extended geographic coverage
The coverage of these charts is extensive, including the U.S. Gulf Coast and the U.S. East Coast up to Savannah, Georgia, Bermuda, the Bahamas, Cuba, Hispaniola, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, the Windward and Leeward Islands, Jamaica, the Panama Canal, the west coast of South America up to Arica, Chile, the Galápagos Islands, the Revillagigedo Islands, Ilha Fernando de Noronha, the Saint Peter and Saint Paul Archipelago, and the Rocas Atoll. This geographic scope ensures detailed charting for a wide range of marine destinations.
Garmin Navionics+ (NSSA004L) features
The Navionics+ version offers an updated color palette and a simplified interface with a Navionics style. It includes a one-year subscription for daily chart updates via the ActiveCaptain® app, ensuring access to the most recent data. The Auto Guidance+™ technology provides suggested routing from dock to dock by combining Garmin and Navionics automatic routing functions, taking into account safety depth and desired overhead clearance. Users can set up to 10 shaded depth range targets to quickly identify fishing areas or navigate at specific depths. HD contours of 0.5 meters (1 foot) provide an accurate representation of the seabed structure, useful for fishing and navigating in complex areas such as marshes and marinas. SonarChart™ Live allows the creation of real-time HD bathymetric charts at 0.5 meters, and Shallow Water Shading highlights shallow areas to avoid. Raster charting is available for download via ActiveCaptain®, offering NOAA marine chart views similar to paper charts. Community Edits, a downloadable content layer, provide local information shared by Navionics Boating app users.
Navionics Platinum+ (NPSA004L) enhancements
The Platinum+ version includes all Navionics+ features and adds advanced charting capabilities. It features high-resolution relief shading that provides a multidimensional view of the seabed structure by blending colors and shadows. Downloadable high-resolution satellite images improve situational awareness, particularly when entering unfamiliar harbors. Finally, 3D views offer three-dimensional representations of the environment, both above and below the waterline.
