Detailed description
Detailed description
The Garmin protection cover is specifically designed for the LiveScope LVS34 transducer, providing targeted protection for this equipment. It is intended to preserve the integrity of the transducer during transport and storage, minimizing the risk of damage from shocks, impacts, or abrasion.
Construction and materials
Several material options are available for these covers. Some versions are made from a high-quality industrial-grade technical polymer, weather-resistant, and include a stainless-steel locking button with an ergonomic grip. Other models use injection-molded high-density polyethylene (HDPE), while variants in 4 mm-thick neoprene are also offered. These constructions aim to give the cover body sufficient thickness and rigidity to withstand impacts and external conditions, including rain, spray, and cold. The cover protects the edges and faces of the transducer, as well as its sensitive internal electronic components.
Mounting mechanisms and use
Mounting systems vary but prioritize ease of use. Quick installation and removal mechanisms are common, often tool-free, with locking buttons and flexible retention devices. Other designs incorporate dual flexible clips for secure holding, or Velcro straps for practical attachment. The cover is designed to stay firmly in place even during trailer transport, ensuring non-slip retention. While it can fit both port and starboard transducer installations, it is imperative to remove this cover before using the transducer in water.
