The JL Audio M3-650X-S-Gm flush-mount marine coaxial speakers are designed for high-performance audio in marine environments. These 6.5-inch (165 mm) 2-way speakers feature a sport gray anthracite grille.
Acoustic design and performance
These coaxial speakers integrate a 6.5-inch woofer with an injection-molded polypropylene cone filled with mica and UV inhibitors, paired with a synthetic rubber surround. The 0.75-inch (19 mm) tweeter is a pure silk dome, specifically treated for marine environments and using neodymium magnets for high efficiency. The long-excursion design, optimized by JL Audio’s DMA (Dynamic Motor Analysis) technology, enhances power output, bass extension, and power handling. The system is optimized for "infinite-baffle" operation, requiring a minimum air volume of 57 liters (2 cubic feet) for optimal low-frequency performance. A passive 2nd-order crossover for the tweeter includes a polyswitch semiconductor protection circuit.

Marine durability and installation
These speakers exceed industry standards for salt fog and UV resistance. They feature UV- and corrosion-resistant polymer baskets and grilles, a saltwater-resistant polymer basket, and integrated marine-grade stainless steel grilles. The woofer cones include UV inhibitors and the spiders are made of marine-grade synthetic fiber. The design allows flexible "free-air" (infinite-baffle) installation without requiring dedicated enclosures. RGB LED lighting is available as an option, requiring separate 12 V wiring for each speaker and an RGB controller (sold separately). A 150 mA fuse on the positive LED wire is required for M3-650 and M3-770 models.
