Designed for the marine environment, the JL Audio M6-650X-S-GwGw flush-mount marine speakers are 2-way coaxial models with 6.5-inch (165 mm) drivers. They deliver a continuous power output of 75 Watts RMS per speaker and a frequency response from 55 Hz to 25 kHz (± 3 dB), with a nominal impedance of 4 Ohms. Their sensitivity is 89.5 dB at 1 W/1 m.
Acoustic design and marine durability
Each speaker features a 6.5-inch woofer with an injection-molded polypropylene cone reinforced with mica and UV inhibitors, paired with a synthetic rubber surround. The tweeter is a 0.8-inch (3/4-inch) pure silk dome, treated for marine environment resistance, and equipped with neodymium magnets for increased efficiency. The woofer motor uses JL Audio’s DMA (Dynamic Motor Analysis) technology, optimizing long-throw design for extended frequency response and uniform midrange dispersion.
The marine-grade construction of these speakers ensures resistance to UV and corrosion thanks to polymer baskets and grilles. All components are saltwater-rated, and the woofer motor system is encapsulated to prevent corrosion. The integrated 2-way passive crossover networks are protected from vibration and corrosion, including an electronic tweeter protection circuit.
Transflective™ RGB LED lighting and installation
The JL Audio M6-650X-S-GwGw stand out with their patent-pending Transflective™ RGB LED lighting. This technology diffuses light through the cone material, providing a glare-free lighting effect. Seven fixed colors are available, with the option to control color and intensity via an optional lighting controller (sold separately).
Optimized for infinite baffle installation, these speakers do not require a dedicated enclosure, simplifying installation in various configurations. Mounting dimensions include a depth of 76 to 77 mm (3.00–3.036 inches), a cutout diameter of 127 to 133 mm (4.979–5.25 inches), and an outer frame diameter of 175 mm (6.898–6.90 inches). They are supplied with bright white sport grilles.
