Designed for the marine environment, the JL Audio M6-770X-S-GmTi-i marine speakers are 2-way coaxial models with a 7.7-inch (196 mm) cone. They feature an injection-molded polypropylene woofer cone with UV inhibitors and a synthetic rubber surround. The 1-inch (25 mm) silk dome tweeter is UV- and salt-spray-resistant, cooled and dampened by ferrofluid.
Design and acoustic performance
These speakers are optimized for infinite baffle mounting, eliminating the need for a dedicated enclosure. They handle 100 watts RMS per speaker and are compatible with amplifiers delivering 40 to 200 watts RMS per channel. Impedance is 4 ohms. Frequency response ranges from 45 to 25,000 Hz (± 3 dB) with 91 dB sensitivity @ 1W/1m, ensuring clear sound reproduction. The 7.7-inch design provides higher output and bass response than 6.5-inch models.
Marine durability and integrated lighting
The M6-770X-S-GmTi-i speakers are built for marine use, with UV- and corrosion-resistant polymer baskets and grilles, marine-grade synthetic fiber spiders, and gold-plated brass terminals. They meet or exceed industry standards for salt, fog, and moisture resistance. They also feature a Transflective™ RGB LED lighting system that projects uniform illumination through the woofer cone. Seven fixed lighting colors are available, with the option to connect an external RGB LED controller (sold separately) for advanced color and intensity adjustment.
Installation and physical specifications
Installation requires a 159 mm (6.188 / 6.25 in) cutout diameter and a mounting depth of 84 mm (3.32 in). The frame outer diameter is 196 mm (7.70 in). An integrated 2-way passive crossover with semiconductor tweeter protection ensures optimal audio signal management. The product ships with Sport Gunmetal grilles and Titanium inserts.
