Designed for open marine environments, the JL Audio M6-770X-S-GmTi 7.7-inch coaxial flush-mount marine speakers are optimized for clear and powerful sound reproduction. These 2-way speakers are engineered to withstand marine conditions, ensuring durability and stable audio performance on the water.
Marine Audio Performance
The M6-770X-S-GmTi speakers feature a 7.7-inch (196 mm) woofer and a 1-inch (25 mm) silk dome tweeter. Each speaker delivers 100 watts RMS continuous power, with a recommended amplifier power of 40 to 200 watts per channel. The frequency response ranges from 45 Hz to 25,000 Hz (± 3 dB), supported by a system efficiency of 91.0 dB @ 1W/1m. The woofers incorporate JL Audio’s proprietary Dynamic Motor Analysis (DMA) for increased output, extended bass, and reduced distortion. A passive 2-way crossover network (2nd-order low-pass and 3rd-order high-pass) is integrated for precise frequency management, and a polyswitch protection is included for the tweeter.
Marine Design and Durability
The JL Audio M6-770X-S-GmTi speakers are specifically built for marine environments. The woofer cone is made of injection-molded polypropylene, mica-filled, and UV-inhibited, paired with a synthetic rubber surround. The woofer motor systems are encapsulated to prevent corrosion. These speakers are designed to resist salt exposure, mist, and UV rays, meeting marine industry standards. Cleaning with mild soap and rinsing with fresh water is recommended.
Integration and Installation
Optimized for infinite baffle use, these speakers do not require a dedicated enclosure, simplifying integration. The cutout diameter is 159 mm (6.188 inches), mounting depth is 84 mm (3.32 inches), and the front protrusion of the grille is 27 mm (1.08 inches). The aesthetic design includes a bronze (Gunmetal) sport grille with a titanium insert, with removable grille and trim ring for customization. It is important to note that this specific model (M6-770X-S-GmTi) does not include integrated LED lighting. Mounting must be secure to avoid damage in harsh conditions, and the product must not be installed in an engine compartment or any area of extreme heat.
