Designed for marine environments, the JL Audio M3-770ETXv3-Sb-S-Gm-i marine tower speakers are a 7.7-inch (196 mm) coaxial system delivering powerful and clear sound reproduction. These 2-way speakers are optimized for tower applications, ensuring effective audio projection beyond the boat. They feature injection-molded polypropylene cone woofers with mica reinforcement and synthetic rubber surrounds, complemented by 19 mm (3/4 inch) silk dome tweeters.
Audio performance and marine durability
Each speaker delivers 70 watts RMS continuous power, with a recommended amplifier power of 20 to 140 watts RMS per channel. The system has a nominal impedance of 4 ohms and a frequency response of 45 Hz to 25,000 Hz (±3 dB), with a sensitivity of 90.5 dB at 1 W/1 m. The woofers are optimized using DMA technology to reduce distortion and improve bass quality. Second-order high-pass tweeter filters are integrated, with semiconductor protection circuits to minimize failure risks. The marine-grade construction includes UV- and corrosion-resistant polymer baskets and grilles, ensuring reliability in harsh marine environments.
Integrated RGB LED lighting and installation
The M3-770ETXv3-Sb-S-Gm-i models feature Sport grilles and include integrated multicolor RGB LED lighting, casting a light effect on the woofer cone. These LEDs can be wired for individual colors or controlled via an optional RGB controller (sold separately) for an extended color palette. Installing these speakers requires JL Audio mounting hardware (sold separately) and allows adaptation to various pipe diameters or flush mounting on surfaces. Decorative aluminum caps with the logo are included and can be oriented according to the mounting application. Wiring connections for the LEDs are required at each speaker location for the lighting function. A fast-acting inline fuse must be installed at the power source end for each +12V yellow LED speaker connection. LED current draw is 108 mA at 12V DC, with a recommended fuse rating of 150 mA.
