Designed for detailed visualization of underwater structures, the Navico DSI DownScan Skimmer depth sounder uses DownScan Imaging technology. It provides high-speed scanning with clear, near-photographic views of the underwater environment, enabling identification of baitfish, game fish, bottom composition, thermoclines, and structures such as bridge pilings or rocks. The depth sounder also includes an integrated water temperature sensor.
Sonar Performance and Technical Specifications
This DSI depth sounder operates on two frequencies: 455 kHz and 800 kHz. At 455 kHz, it has a beam width of 6.4°, and at 800 kHz, a beam width of 12°. The maximum achievable depth is 90 meters (300 feet) at 455 kHz, with a transmission power of 500W RMS. It is designed to operate at boat speeds up to 50 mph (approximately 43 knots), with an optimal speed for structure marking below 8 mph.
Installation and Compatibility
The DSI DownScan Skimmer depth sounder comes with a 6-meter (20-foot) cable and is compatible with Lowrance Elite/Mark DSI sounder combos, including Elite-5 DSI, Elite-5x DSI, and Mark-5x DSI models. It is compatible with all hull types and suitable for small outboard boats and inboard/outboard vessels up to 8 meters (25 feet) in length. Mounting options include the transom or electric motor, and it is supplied with a mounting bracket and necessary hardware.
