Detailed description
The Navico OP-55 portrait remote control is a dedicated control unit designed for precise and efficient operation of multifunction displays (MFD) compatible with the NEON™ OS operating system. It provides centralized, touch-based management of navigation systems, optimized for marine environments. This controller is compatible with Simrad® NSO® 4, NSS® 4, NSX® MFDs, as well as B&G® ZEUS® SRX, ZEUS® SR, and Zeus® S displays. Its portrait design adapts to various console layouts, with a landscape version also available.
Connectivity and Installation
The OP-55 unit connects via a single NMEA 2000® backbone, which simultaneously provides power and control data. It features a 1.8 m (6 ft) Micro-C male cable for simplified network integration. For installation, the unit allows flush mounting with an 8 mm profile or fully flush mounting with an optional bracket. Its narrow design and side cable routing make it suitable for mounting on helm seat armrests. The unit weighs 0.29 kg (including cable) and measures 150 mm (H) x 60 mm (W).
Features and Performance
The OP-55 can control up to six compatible networked multifunction displays. Its aluminum control dial, with a knurled edge, includes cursor functions for precise on-screen navigation. A fully programmable button can be configured for different actions (single press, double press, or long press), providing quick access to frequently used functions and applications. An integrated 90 dBA speaker at 0.5 m delivers critical alarm sounds. Built-in LED indicators clearly show the currently selected display, with a dedicated button for quick switching between available screens. The keyboard and controls are specifically optimized for NEON™ OS MFD operation in all conditions. The keyboard backlight is white. Environmental protection is rated IPX6, provided the unit is flush-mounted in the dashboard. A 10 cm compass-safe distance must be maintained. Power consumption is 90 mA, corresponding to 2 LEN.
