Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for detailed underwater imaging and accurate depth data, the Navico XSONIC 50/200 HDI (12°) through-hull transducer integrates Hybrid Dual Imaging (HDI) technology. This technology combines traditional CHIRP sonar with high-definition DownScan imaging, providing clear views of bottom contours, wrecks, and fish schools. Its 12-degree tilted element design is optimized for hulls with moderate deadrise angles, ensuring the transducer face remains perpendicular to the water flow for optimal performance.
Sonar and Imaging Performance
The XSONIC 50/200 HDI operates across multiple frequencies to adapt to various fishing and cruising conditions. For traditional sonar, it uses 50/200 kHz frequencies, offering extended CHIRP coverage. DownScan imaging operates at 455/800 kHz frequencies, delivering high-resolution images. With beam widths of 45° at 50 kHz and 11° at 200 kHz, it enables effective detection. In DownScan mode, beam widths are 2.8° (fore-aft) and 56° (port-starboard) at 455 kHz, and 1.6° (fore-aft) and 32° (port-starboard) at 800 kHz.
Integration and Compatibility
This bronze through-hull transducer is compatible with fiberglass or wooden hulls. It comes with a 10-meter (33-foot) cable and a 9-pin black connector, ensuring compatibility with Simrad and Lowrance sounders. An integrated temperature sensor provides quick water temperature readings, useful for locating thermoclines. Maximum detection depth reaches 350 meters (1,200 feet) in traditional sonar and 350 feet in DownScan Imaging, depending on the connected sonar unit.
