Detailed description
The Raymarine AIS4000 Class A transponder is designed for commercial vessels, luxury yachts, and high-seas SOLAS vessels. This Class A AIS transceiver provides robust network capability and is built to withstand weather conditions, shocks, and vibrations.
Display and Connectivity
The AIS4000 integrates a 5-inch high-definition color display (800 × 480 pixels) for chart access, alarms, and tracking. It supports chart display via a microSD™ card for software updates and charts, with optional C-MAP ENC mapping. Connectivity is provided by built-in Wi-Fi, NMEA 2000, and three bidirectional NMEA 0183 ports (IEC61162-2) plus three NMEA 0183 ports (IEC61162-1). It also features a GPS correction data input (ITU-R M.823-2) and an alarm relay output.
AIS and GNSS Performance
Equipped with fourth-generation AIS technology, the AIS4000 delivers improved speed, range, and processing. It displays color-coded target representation and includes a Man Overboard (MOB/PLB) alert and tracking system. CPA/TCPA (Closest Point of Approach / Time to Closest Point of Approach) data and alarms are also available. Its 72-channel GNSS receiver supports dual-parallel operation with GPS and GLONASS systems, and a GNSS antenna is included. The VHF transmitter output power is 1 W or 12.5 W (automatic), over a frequency range of 156.025 MHz to 162.025 MHz.
Design and Installation
Built for demanding marine environments, the AIS4000 meets the highest industry standards for waterproofing (IPx6 and IPx7), shock, and vibration resistance. Its dimensions are 152 x 165 x 70 mm with a weight of 1 kg. It operates on 12–24 VDC power with a consumption of 0.5A at 12V (6W). The transponder ships with a junction box for extended connectivity to onboard sensors and ECDIS systems. Mounting options include overhead, bulkhead, desktop, or surface mounting.
