Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for advanced marine navigation, the Simrad HALO 2003 is a 50W pulse compression radar system with a 3-foot open-array antenna. It provides detection range from 6 meters to 72 nautical miles, equivalent to a 12kW magnetron radar, ensuring coverage at short and long distances. This system operates on the X-band (9.390 – 9.495 GHz) and is compatible with 12V and 24V electrical systems. Its pedestal and antenna are rated IPX6 for resistance to marine elements and operate within a temperature range of -25°C to +55°C.
Advanced Detection Technology
The HALO 2003 features advanced pulse compression technology, combined with beam sharpening (from 2.4° to 1.7°), enabling high-resolution target detection. The antenna rotation speed ranges from 16 to 48 RPM. The exclusive VelocityTrack™ function uses Doppler technology to identify the speed and direction of targets, aiding in collision avoidance. The ZoneTrack™ mode enables automatic tracking of up to 50 targets within a defined zone, providing precise alerts for hazardous targets, whether radar or AIS.
Features and Integration
This Simrad radar allows simultaneous monitoring across two detection ranges. It offers preset modes (Harbor, Offshore, Weather, Birds) for simplified configuration without manual adjustments. Its bird detection capability can signal the presence of fish schools. Solid-state technology eliminates the need for magnetron replacement, reduces power consumption, and offers minimal warm-up time (instantly ready from standby, or in 16-25 seconds from power-on). Advanced digital signal processing reduces clutter. The HALO 2003 is compatible with Simrad chartplotters from the NSS™, NSX™, NSO™, and GO™ series and integrates via Ethernet for multi-screen setups. It supports automatic MARPA target tracking and overlay of AIS data.
