Designed to simplify the integration of Simrad MKII autopilot pumps (models 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5) with Verado steering systems, the Simrad Autopilot Pump MKII installation kit provides a complete hydraulic solution. It ensures compatibility with Verado steering systems using O-Ring Boss (ORB) fittings, including SeaStar-type systems, and includes O-Ring Face Seal (ORFS) fittings specific to Verado.
Hydraulic components included
This kit includes pre-cut hydraulic hoses and fittings for direct and reliable installation. It comprises:
- 3 hoses with a 1/4" diameter, rated for a maximum pressure of 2800 PSI (some sources indicate 3000 PSI), each 915 mm (36") long, with 9/16-18 ORFS to 9/16 UNF fittings.
- 2 hoses with a 1/4" diameter, rated for a maximum pressure of 2800 PSI (some sources indicate 3000 PSI), each 370 mm (14.5") or 380 mm (15") long, with 9/16-18 ORFS to 9/16-24 ORFS or 9/16" ORFS to 9/16" ORFS fittings.
- 1 hose with a 1/4" diameter, rated for a maximum pressure of 2800 PSI, 830 mm (32.7") long, with 9/16-18 ORFS to 9/16-18 ORFS fittings.
- 1 return hose with a 3/8" diameter, rated for a maximum pressure of 2250 PSI, 830 mm (32.7") or 390 mm (15.4") long, with 11/16-16 ORFS to 11/16-16 ORFS fittings.
- 2 stainless steel T-fittings, 9/16-18 ORFS.
- 1 brass T-fitting, 11/16-16 ORFS > 11/16-16 ORFS > 9/16-18 ORFS.
Integrated SteadySteer™ functionality
The kit includes the SteadySteer flow switch, enabling intuitive autopilot control. This feature allows the user to take manual control of the vessel during turns without disengaging the autopilot. Once the new heading is set after a manual turn, the autopilot automatically reactivates without additional input or alarm. SteadySteer simplifies navigation by eliminating the need to check the display or press buttons to adjust course, providing smooth and effortless control. It is compatible with Simrad NAC-2 and NAC-3 autopilot computers (software version 1.1.02.00 or later), AP44, IS42, and AP48 control heads (software version 57.3.163 or 2.2-57.3.163 or later), and Simrad multifunction displays (software version 20.2 or later). This system is suitable for boats equipped with hydraulic steering.
