Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed to optimize the sailing experience, the Simrad SteadySteer Flow Switch (000-15734-001) is a hydraulic steering component that enhances autopilot systems. It allows manual control of the vessel during turns without disengaging the autopilot, then automatically re-engages once a new heading is established. This feature ensures a smooth transition between manual and automatic steering, reducing distractions and simplifying heading adjustments.
Key Features of the SteadySteer Flow Switch
The SteadySteer device enables automatic disengagement of the autopilot when manually intervening on the helm during a turn. Once the vessel stabilizes on a new heading, the autopilot automatically re-engages without requiring user input. This automation provides a smoother steering experience and intuitive boat control. Manoeuvres are simplified, with no alarms or button presses needed to change heading—simply turn the helm.
Compatibility and Integration
The SteadySteer Flow Switch is compatible with Simrad autopilot computers NAC-2 and NAC-3 (from software version 1.1.01.00). It also works with control units AP44, IS42, and AP48 (from software version 57.3.163), as well as Simrad multifunction displays running software version 20.2 or later. This system is specifically designed for vessels with hydraulic steering systems and is compatible with RPU-series pumps. It is not compatible with newer "PUMP-" Canadian Metal autopilot pumps.
