Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for reliable conversion of direct current to alternating current, the Victron Energy VE.Direct Schuko PIN122161200 inverter is part of Victron Energy’s VE.Direct series. This 12V model delivers a continuous power output of 1450W at 25°C and a peak power of 2100W for 15 seconds, making it suitable for applications requiring stable 230V AC power with a Schuko outlet. It outperforms lower-capacity models in the VE.Direct range such as the 12/250 (250W) or 12/800 (800W) in terms of load capacity, making it relevant for more demanding onboard equipment. Compared to competing inverters without a communication port, its VE.Direct connectivity provides an advantage in system management and monitoring.
Advanced Connectivity and Configurability
The inverter features a VE.Direct communication port, enabling connection to various devices. It can be linked to a computer via a VE.Direct to USB interface cable, or to smartphones, tablets, and Apple and Android MacBooks using a VE.Direct Smart Bluetooth dongle. This capability offers extended configuration options, including adjusting low-battery alarm and reset levels, low-voltage cutoff and restart thresholds (including dynamic cutoff), AC output voltage (223.1–236.9V), frequency (50 Hz or 60 Hz), and ECO mode settings. Monitoring is also available for input and output voltage, load percentage, and alarms.
Reliability and Built-in Features
The inverter’s design is based on a full-bridge topology with a toroidal transformer, known for its reliability. The unit is protected against short circuits and overheating, whether caused by overload or high ambient temperature. Its ability to deliver high startup power is critical for inductive loads such as power supplies for LED lamps, halogen lamps, or power tools. The ECO mode, when enabled, reduces energy consumption by placing the inverter in standby when the load drops below a predefined threshold (min. 15W), then reactivating periodically to check for load presence. A remote on/off function is also available via a two-pin connector, and diagnostic LEDs indicate operating status and active protections. For load transfer to another AC source, Victron Energy recommends using the Filax automatic transfer switch, offering a switching time of less than 20 milliseconds for continuous power supply to sensitive equipment.
