An IMOCA foiler from the 2015 generation

StMichel-Virbac is an IMOCA 60 designed by Guillaume Verdier and VPLP Design, launched on 12 September 2015. It is part of the revolutionary 2015 generation of IMOCA boats equipped with retractable foils that partially lift the hull to reduce drag.

The hull is notably narrower than competing boats of this generation, with a very full bow and flat lines to maximize power, particularly in light air and transition zones. Built by Multiplast in Vannes, from February to September 2015.

Achievements with Jean-Pierre Dick

  • 4th Vendée Globe 2016-2017 in 80 days 1 hour 45 minutes 45 seconds
  • Winner Transat Jacques Vabre 2017 with Yann Eliès — confirming the potential of the Verdier-VPLP design

After Dick’s departure in 2018, the boat was transferred to Yann Eliès (renamed Ucar-StMichel), then sold to Giancarlo Pedote in 2019 (renamed Prysmian) — it continues to race under the Italian flag.
