B744VL — 600W Through-Hull Bronze Sonde 50/200kHz 3 Functions

Designed for fiberglass or wooden hulls, the AIRMAR B744VL multisensor TRIDUCER® through-hull bronze transducer integrates depth, speed, and temperature in a single housing, requiring only one hull penetration. This model is suitable for vessels up to 9 meters in length.

Technical Specifications and Performance

The B744VL transducer delivers 600 W of power and operates on dual frequencies of 50/200 kHz. At 50 kHz, the beam width is 45° with a maximum depth of 366 meters. At 200 kHz, the beam width is 12° with a depth capability of 206 to 213 meters. These frequencies provide target detail in shallow waters and bottom tracking in deep waters.

Design and Installation

The transducer body is made of bronze with a diameter of ø 51 mm, requiring a 51 mm mounting hole. The "VL" (Very Long) version features an extra-long 140 mm (or 121 mm depending on source) shaft, suitable for thick hulls or pronounced keel angles (up to 24° with the included shoe). A shoe is provided and required to optimize performance, especially at speeds up to 30 knots (approximately 55 km/h). The transducer includes a patented self-sealing water valve that reduces water entry when removing the paddlewheel insert. Fins in the paddlewheel cavity improve speed accuracy in cross-flow conditions. The housing is retractable, and the cable measures 10 meters. The transducer weighs 2.5 kg.
