Detailed description
Detailed description
The AIRMAR CM265LH sonar is a 1 kW dual-band CHIRP solution designed for deep-water underwater detection and target separation. It operates on a low-frequency range of 42 to 65 kHz with a 25° to 16° beam, and on a high-frequency range of 130 to 210 kHz with a 10° to 6° beam. This configuration provides a total bandwidth coverage of 103 kHz from a single transducer, offering fast-response depth and water temperature detection functions.
Detection performance
With 1 kW power, the CM265LH delivers a maximum depth of 914 meters in low frequency and 304 meters in high frequency. It integrates eight wideband ceramic assemblies, including a seven-element array for low frequency. CHIRP technology enhances resolution, seabed discrimination, and separation of fish schools and game fish at all depths. It is optimized for specific species such as bluefin tuna (60 kHz), squid (133 kHz), and cod (175 kHz), covering popular frequencies of 50 kHz and 200 kHz within its ranges. The transducer features patented Xducer ID® technology for transducer identification.
Design and installation
The sonar housing is made of SEALCAST™ urethane, a seamless material that ensures high durability. Designed for flush mounting (cavity/wet-box/tank mount), the CM265LH is suitable for metal hulls and can accommodate any deadrise angle via a custom cavity or welded tank. Its curved-edge design facilitates installation in a wet box. The transducer weighs 6.1 kg and is recommended for boats 8 meters and larger. A 12-meter cable with a 12-pin connector is included, and the Mix and Match™ option is available for extended compatibility via an adapter cable.
