Designed to set up a basic NMEA 2000 network, the Ancor NMEA 2000 single-device backbone starter kit, model 270203 provides a solution to connect a single device to your marine system. This kit supplies the essential components for an initial installation, enabling integration of NMEA 2000-compatible electronic equipment.
NMEA 2000 integration and compliance
This kit includes NMEA 2000-approved cables and connectors, ensuring optimal compatibility and reliability within the network. Installation is simplified by color-coded couplers, making it easier to identify power cables and connectors. Ancor’s Marine Grade® quality ensures robustness suitable for marine environments.
Kit contents and electrical performance
The Ancor NMEA 2000 SNGL DEV BACKB STRTR kit includes a 1-meter power cable with a T-connector, a male terminator, a female terminator, a single T-connector, a 0.5-meter drop cable, and a 5-meter backbone cable. Heavy-gauge power conductors (18 AWG) minimize voltage drop, meeting ABYC and USCG requirements for minimum power conductor size, which contributes to system reliability. Once the basic network is established, it can be expanded with additional NMEA 2000 instruments and components.
