Detailed description
Designed for cruising and racing/cruising sailboats, the B&G Triton Edge Sailing Processor Base pack (SKU: 000-11548-002) is a centralized instrument processor that provides advanced navigation data processing. It integrates a microprocessor for essential instrument calculations, improving the accuracy of navigation information and autopilot performance.
Connectivity and Performance
The Triton Edge features a 100 Mbit Ethernet port, an NMEA 2000® Micro-C port (1 LEN), and PC connectivity via an integrated web server. It includes an internal dual-band Wi-Fi® (802.11 b/g/n) with an integrated antenna, operating at 2.4 GHz. These connectivity options ensure robust integration with external sensors and system modules.
Navigation Data and Advanced Functions
This processor delivers a comprehensive suite of navigation data, including advanced calculations for starting line, true wind data with auto-calibration, boat speed calibration and correction, and wind correction based on heel and trim angles. It supports polar tables to optimize navigation performance. Integration with the B&G Companion app allows data logging and review, with the ability to upload tracks to the cloud. The integrated web server simplifies setup, commissioning, and advanced diagnostics, while offering backup, restore, and data export functions.
Technical Specifications and Compatibility
The Triton Edge operates on a 12/24 V DC power supply (9.0–31.2 V DC) with a maximum power consumption of 4 W and a recommended fuse rating of 1 A. Its IPX6 and IPX7 waterproof rating ensures resistance to marine environments. It operates within a temperature range of -15 °C to 55 °C and can be stored from -40 °C to 85 °C. Its dimensions are approximately 6" (L) x 3.9" (H) x 2.1" (D) with a weight of 0.26 kg. The processor is compatible with B&G Triton™ 2 and Nemesis™ displays, as well as Vulcan™ and Zeus™ chartplotters. It is CE and UKCA certified and compliant with IEC/EN 60945 and AS/NZS 2772.2 2016 standards.
