Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for precise monitoring of alternating current electrical systems aboard, the BLUE SEA 9354-BSS analog AC voltmeter is an instrument dedicated to voltage measurement. Part of Blue Sea Systems' standard meter range, it differs from the micro models (PN 8244/8245) in its dimensions, featuring a 66.70 mm (2-5/8 inches) face and requiring a 47.60 mm (1-7/8 inches) mounting hole. This voltmeter provides a direct reading of AC voltage in a range from 0 to 250 volts, with minimal electrical consumption of 1 milliampere.
Accuracy and Integration
The 9354-BSS model displays an accuracy of 3% of full scale, ensuring reliable indications for monitoring the vessel's shore power supply. Unlike integrated digital energy management systems such as those offered by B&G or Garmin, which display multiple data points on multifunction displays, this Blue Sea voltmeter is a standalone and simple-to-use solution. It serves as an essential complement for electrical panels lacking advanced digital monitoring, or as a backup instrument.
Installation and Reliability
Installation of the BLUE SEA 9354-BSS voltmeter can be done via surface or panel mounting, providing flexibility for various panel configurations. Wiring requires a direct connection to the AC line being monitored, respecting polarities (+ for the hot wire, - for the neutral) and using a wire of at least 16 AWG. Circuit protection by a circuit breaker or fuse is mandatory, with a recommendation for a 1 ampere fuse if the existing circuit protection is oversized. The calibration process is factory-set, ensuring correct readings upon installation, with an option for fine adjustment of the needle if necessary.
