Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for precise control of onboard lighting, the BLUE SEA SYSTEMS Deckhand PN 7507 dimmer manages digital dimming of unregulated LEDs, incandescent, and halogen lights. This device integrates technical features to optimize user experience and the longevity of lighting equipment. It provides continuous control via pulse-width modulation (PWM) from 0 to 100% of the input voltage, ensuring smooth transitions in light intensity.
Features and technical specifications
The Deckhand 7507 dimmer operates at a nominal voltage of 12V DC, with an extended operating range from 9V to 16V. It supports a maximum output current of 12A and features standby current below 2mA, making it energy-efficient. Its operating temperature range, from -40°C to 85°C, demonstrates its robustness in various marine environments. Key features include a backlit output with adjustable delay up to 5 minutes, a memory function for the last dimming setting, and a bulb saver to prevent premature aging during boat battery charging. Offset mounting tabs facilitate installation of multiple dimmers side by side, and a momentary (ON)-OFF-(ON) switch is included for intuitive use. The product complies with CE, ISO 8846, and SAE J1171 standards for ignition protection.
Positioning within the range and applications
The 7507 model is part of the BLUE SEA SYSTEMS Deckhand series, offering a 12A capacity at 12V DC. It serves as an intermediate solution in terms of current, complementing the 7506 (6A) and 7508 (25A) models for different power needs in 12V systems. For 24V systems, equivalents such as the 7509 (12A) are also available. This range is designed for managing general onboard lighting, from cabins to cockpits, where light intensity adjustment is required for comfort or night navigation. Its compatibility with unregulated LEDs, incandescent, and halogen bulbs makes it a versatile choice for modernizing or equipping existing lighting systems.
