Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for recreational fishing in shallow to mid-depth waters, the Garmin Airmar TM150M transducer is a CHIRP transducer for transom mounting. It operates in a mid-frequency range of 95 to 155 kHz with a 300 W transmission power, providing a total bandwidth of 60 kHz. This CHIRP technology delivers superior target resolution and better water penetration compared to traditional single-frequency transducers, such as 50/200 kHz models. The TM150M provides accurate depth readings up to 183 meters (600 feet) and quick water temperature monitoring.
Integration and Technical Performance
The TM150M is suitable for boats up to 8 meters (25 feet) in length, including planing hulls and displacement hulls, constructed from wood, fiberglass, aluminum, or steel. It is compatible with transom angles from 3° to 20° and can orient the sound beam vertically on hulls with a deadrise angle up to 28°. Its conical beam varies from 26° to 17° depending on frequency, improving the detection of fish near structures or suspended. It can maintain bottom tracking at high boat speeds.
Differentiation and Positioning
Positioned as a versatile CHIRP solution, the TM150M transducer stands out from high-power CHIRP transducers (e.g., 1 kW models like the B265 or TM265) due to its power and maximum depth suited for coastal and inland applications. It offers significant performance improvements over traditional transducers at a comparable price, while remaining more affordable than high-end CHIRP systems. It integrates Xducer ID® technology for automatic Garmin fishfinder configuration and system optimization. Its plastic breakaway bracket protects the housing from frontal impacts, ensuring durability under normal operating conditions.
