Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for remote vessel management, the Garmin GTB 10 OnDeck Hub is a complete connectivity solution offering tracking, monitoring, and control capabilities via the ActiveCaptain app. This hub serves as a central element for boat safety and management, distinguishing itself from basic monitoring systems through its deep integration and active control functions.
Technical Specifications and Connectivity
The GTB 10 OnDeck Hub measures 23.1 x 4.9 x 14.2 cm without antennas and weighs 0.64 kg, allowing for discreet installation. It operates on an input voltage range of 10 to 32 VDC, with a maximum power consumption of 20 W at 10 VDC. Its internal backup battery provides up to 48 hours of autonomy, maintaining connectivity even in case of a main power failure on the boat. The device is compatible with NMEA 2000 and the Garmin Marine Network, and features 3G/4G cellular and Wi-Fi connectivity. Internal GPS sensor updates occur every 15 or 30 minutes, depending on power status. The operating temperature range is -15° to 55°C, with the internal battery charging range from 0° to 45°C. A safety distance of 102 mm must be maintained from the compass.
Tracking, Monitoring, and Control Features
The hub integrates a GPS sensor for position tracking and geolocation, sending SMS alerts if the vessel leaves a defined zone or if a safety sensor is triggered. It also provides vessel speed data. For monitoring, it offers updates on battery status, bilge pump activity, shore power, and temperature changes. It enables monitoring of safety sensors, fluid levels, and engine data via NMEA 2000 sensors. Alarm notifications can be configured via the ActiveCaptain app for various events. In terms of control, the GTB 10 allows remote command of up to five relays for systems such as battery chargers or ice makers, via the ActiveCaptain app or a compatible Garmin chartplotter. It also supports control of NMEA 2000 momentary or latching switches via EmpirBus™ or other third-party interfaces. Full integration with the ActiveCaptain app enables centralized management of all vessel functions, while cloud data storage is secured for up to 30 days. Use of OnDeck services requires an active subscription.
