Detailed description
Detailed description
The Garmin 010-13230-01 mounting hardware is a set of accessories designed for the installation of the downward-facing Panoptix PS70 through-hull transducer. This kit ensures secure mounting and optimal performance of the transducer, even under demanding marine conditions. It is compatible with various hull types, including fiberglass (with or without core) and metal, offering installation versatility.
Design and Compatibility
This hardware includes stainless steel through-hull components, essential for durability and corrosion resistance in a marine environment. A fairing block is provided, allowing transducer integration on hulls with up to 20 degrees of deadrise. This block positions the transducer parallel to the waterline, which is critical for maintaining sonar return accuracy at high operating speeds and resisting hydrodynamic stresses. Installation requires marine sealant to ensure a watertight seal, preventing water infiltration.
Installation and Sonar Performance Optimization
The Panoptix PS70 transducer can be installed flush-mounted or in a hull pocket using this hardware. A non-rotating bolt is mandatory to prevent transducer rotation during vessel movement, ensuring consistent sonar data. This hardware is essential for installing the Panoptix PS70 transducer, enabling it to fully utilize its advanced capabilities such as LiveVü™ Down real-time sonar up to 304.8 meters, triple-beam sonar, and RealVü™ 3D for historical seafloor mapping. Proper installation via this kit is critical for the PS70 transducer to deliver stable, detailed sonar images with a minimum display rate of 10 frames per second, even in rough waters thanks to its internal AHRS sensor. Unlike transom-mounted or electric outboard transducers, this through-hull mounting ensures constant, undisturbed exposure of the transducer to water, maximizing range and data clarity for offshore fishing or precise navigation applications. The mounting hardware is therefore a key element enabling the PS70 transducer to fully utilize its 800 watts of power and 190-210 kHz frequency.
