What exactly is included in this 100-minute prepaid plan?

This plan is a service top-up that entitles you to 100 minutes of voice communication on the Iridium satellite network. The validity of this credit is 1 month (30 days) from the activation date on your SIM card (date to be confirmed with Skysat customer service who will contact you).

How do I activate this plan on my satellite phone?

This is an activation service, not a physical product. When placing your order, you will need to provide us with your Iridium SIM card number (MSISDN). We will then remotely activate the 100-minute plan on your card. The one-month validity period begins at the time of this activation.

Is this plan compatible with any satellite phone?

No, this plan is exclusively compatible with Iridium network phones and terminals. It will not work with devices from other networks such as Inmarsat, Thuraya, or Globalstar. You need an Iridium SIM card and an Iridium device (e.g., Iridium 9555, 9575 Extreme, Iridium GO!).

What happens if I don't use all my minutes before the end of the month?

Unused minutes at the end of the 1-month validity period are lost. However, if you purchase and activate a new prepaid top-up before its expiration date, the remaining minutes balance will be carried over and added to your new credit.

What if I use up my 100 minutes before the end of the month?

Once your 100 minutes of credit are depleted, you will no longer be able to make outgoing calls. Your service will be suspended until you purchase a new prepaid top-up to credit your SIM card again.

Can I use this credit to send SMS or for data?

Yes, the 100-minute credit can be used for services other than voice, but the deduction is not the same. Sending an SMS or using data will consume your minutes at a different rate. An SMS is generally deducted at 6 units per message, which is equivalent to 6 seconds of a voice call to a landline or mobile phone (charged at 60 units per minute).

What is the coverage area of this Iridium plan?

The Iridium network offers 100% global coverage. Thanks to its constellation of 66 low-orbit satellites, you can communicate from anywhere on the globe, including oceans, deserts, and polar regions (Arctic and Antarctic), where other networks do not work.

Do I need to buy a new SIM card to use this top-up?

No, it is not necessary if you already have an Iridium SIM card. This top-up can be applied to an existing and active Iridium SIM card, or to a new SIM card that you are activating for the first time with this plan.

How are the minutes deducted? Does a call to another satellite network cost more?

The deduction of 100 minutes is based on standard calls (e.g., Iridium to a landline or mobile phone). Calls to special numbers or other satellite networks (Inmarsat, Thuraya, etc.) are charged at a higher rate and will therefore consume your minute credit much faster.

Does this subscription involve any commitment or hidden monthly fees?

No, this is a 100% prepaid plan with no commitment. You pay once for 100 minutes valid for 1 month. There are no contracts, no fixed monthly fees, and no risk of overage. Once the credit or validity expires, the line simply deactivates until the next top-up.
