Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for marine environments and motorized sports, the JL Audio MX300/1 monoblock amplifier delivers stable and efficient audio power. Using a Class D design with JL Audio’s NexD™ switching technology, this amplifier optimizes power delivery while minimizing distortion without overloading the load systems.
Audio performance and robustness
The MX300/1 delivers RMS power of 160 watts x 1 channel at 4 ohms, 220 watts x 1 channel at 3 ohms, and 300 watts x 1 channel at 2 ohms at 14.4V. At 12.5V, it provides 160 watts at 4 ohms, 200 watts at 3 ohms, and 250 watts at 2 ohms. Its frequency response is 20 Hz to 12 kHz (+0, -1dB), with total harmonic distortion (THD) below 1% at 2 ohms and a signal-to-noise ratio greater than 85 dB (A-weighted).
Rated IPX7, this amplifier withstands immersion up to 1 meter for 30 minutes, making it suitable for wet conditions. Its corrosion-resistant cast aluminum chassis, powder-coated finish, and stainless steel hardware contribute to its durability. Controls are protected by a sealed cover with a gasket.
Features and integration
The amplifier includes a variable low-pass filter adjustable from 35 to 300 Hz with a 12 dB/octave slope, as well as a variable subsonic filter from 20 to 40 Hz to protect subwoofers. A variable Bass Boost from 0 to 12 dB, centered at 43 Hz, is also available. The dual-range input section accepts both preamp-level signals (RCA) and speaker-level signals (via adapter). The balanced-differential inputs are designed to reduce audio signal noise. The advanced thermal rollback protection system prevents amplifier shutdown in case of thermal overload. A polarity switch simplifies output adjustment. An optional remote bass controller (RBC-1 or M-RBC-1) can be connected for easy subwoofer level adjustment.
