Detailed description
Detailed description
The JL Audio MX600/3 marine amplifier is a compact Class D 3-channel audio solution designed for marine environments and motorized sports. It delivers an RMS power output of 75 W x 2 + 250 W x 1 at 4 Ω, or 100 W x 2 + 400 W x 1 at 2 Ω at 14.4V. Thanks to JL Audio’s NexD™ switching technology, it provides efficient power delivery with low distortion.
Design and durability
Featuring a compact die-cast aluminum chassis, the MX600/3 amplifier is corrosion-resistant. It holds an IPX7 waterproof rating, allowing it to withstand immersion up to 1 meter for 30 minutes with the control panel cover properly installed. Its black powder-coated finish, sealed cover, and stainless-steel hardware enhance durability in harsh conditions. Dimensions are 45 mm (H) x 237 mm (L) x 115 mm (D).
Integration and audio performance
This amplifier offers a frequency response from 20 Hz to 20 kHz and a signal-to-noise ratio of 88 dB, with THD+N below 1.0% at 2 ohms rated power. Its dual-range input section accepts signals from 250 mV to 14 V, whether line-level (RCA) or high-level (speaker-level). Differential-balanced inputs minimize electrical noise. For sound optimization, the front channels (1 and 2) include a variable high-pass filter (35–300 Hz, 12 dB/octave), while the subwoofer channel (channel 3) features a variable low-pass filter (40–400 Hz, 24 dB/octave), a variable subsonic filter (20–40 Hz, 12 dB/octave), and adjustable bass boost (0–12 dB at 43 Hz). A subwoofer polarity switch (0–180°) is also included. A remote level control (M-RBC-1 or RBC-1) can be connected for convenient subwoofer level adjustment. Power requires a 4 AWG cable and an external 60A fuse (not included), to be installed within 45 cm of the battery.
