The Lowrance ActiveImaging HD 2-in-1 depth sounder is designed for high-definition underwater detection, providing improved clarity of structures and fish. It integrates SideScan and DownScan Imaging technologies for detailed views of the seabed and targets. This model is particularly suited to complement existing CHIRP depth sounder systems, focusing on high-frequency imaging.
Imaging Technologies and Frequencies
The ActiveImaging HD 2-in-1 depth sounder uses high CHIRP frequencies for image resolution. For DownScan, it operates at 700 kHz CHIRP and 1200 kHz CHIRP. SideScan operates at 455 kHz CHIRP and 1075 kHz CHIRP. These frequencies, reaching up to 1.2 MHz, allow target separation and visualization of underwater details such as rocks, weed beds, and drop-offs. The ActiveImaging HD 2-in-1 depth sounder does not support the FishReveal™ feature.
Performance and Compatibility
This depth sounder delivers a maximum depth of 46 m in DownScan at 700 kHz and 27 m at 1200 kHz. In SideScan, the lateral range reaches 91 m at 455 kHz and 46 m at 1075 kHz. The maximum operating speed is 9 knots for both DownScan and SideScan. The transducer is directly compatible with Lowrance HDS PRO displays. For Lowrance HDS LIVE, HDS Carbon, Elite FS, and Simrad NSX, NSS, and NSO Evo 3 and Evo 3S displays, a separate S3100 sonar module is required for full functionality. The 7.6 m (25 ft) cable is equipped with a 9-pin connector.
Construction and Installation
Weighing 1.2 kg (2.64 lbs), the depth sounder is designed to withstand marine conditions with an operating temperature range of -15°C to +55°C and a storage temperature range of -30°C to +70°C. It offers transom and transom-skirt mounting options. The transom-mounting bracket kit is included, facilitating installation and allowing angle adjustment for optimal tracking at different boat speeds. A plastic insulating material such as King StarBoard® is recommended for aluminum hulls to prevent corrosion.
