The ChargeMaster Plus 12/35-3 from MASTERVOLT is an advanced automatic battery charger designed as an all-in-one solution for demanding marine and mobile electrical systems. Part of the new ChargeMaster Plus generation, it outperforms conventional chargers by combining multiple essential functions into a single compact unit, reducing installation complexity and costs. Unlike basic models or older systems requiring separate chargers for different banks, the 12/35-3 features a "Battery's Best Friend" architecture enabling simultaneous and optimized charging of up to three battery banks with varying chemistries (lead-acid, gel, AGM, lithium-ion) through customizable charge profiles and a pre-floating function to prevent overcharging of small batteries.
Integration and Technical Performance
This model delivers a nominal output voltage of 12 V with a total charge current of 35 A, capable of supplying this maximum current on each of its three outputs, provided the model's total is not exceeded. It operates across a wide input voltage range (80–275 V) and frequencies (50/60 Hz), ensuring global compatibility. The ChargeMaster Plus 12/35-3 maintains stable system power even without a connected battery and features galvanic isolation for enhanced safety. Charging is managed via a 3-stage+ IUoUo process with temperature compensation (included probe) and DC voltage compensation via MasterShunt or automatic mode, optimizing battery lifespan.
Connectivity and Robustness
The ChargeMaster Plus 12/35-3 is equipped with MasterBus, CZone, and NMEA2000 communication interfaces, enabling full integration and detailed monitoring within complex systems. This advanced connectivity allows real-time adjustments and optimal synergy with Mastervolt lithium-ion batteries and system displays. Its robust design withstands ambient temperatures from -25 °C to 80 °C (with power derating above 40 °C) and significant voltage fluctuations, making it suitable for the most demanding environments. Cooling is provided by a low-noise variable-speed fan, and the unit is protected against overheating, overcharging, short circuits, abnormal battery voltages, and features ignition protection, all under an IP23 ingress protection rating.
