Detailed description
Detailed description
The Navico Naviop LOOP M Digital Switching System kit from Navico is a digital switching and monitoring solution for mid-sized vessels, typically between 6 and 9 meters (20-30 feet). Designed to integrate with Lowrance, Simrad, and B&G multifunction displays (MFDs), this system simplifies the control and monitoring of onboard equipment.
System components and capabilities
The kit includes the Naviop OP Box processing unit and the Egon+ power distribution board. The Naviop LOOP M system manages 8 relay-controlled channels with fuses and 8 fuse-only channels. The Egon+ board operates on 12 V DC power and features IP66 protection, in addition to being ignition-protected with appropriate fuses. The OP Box operates within a 9 to 32 V DC range with a maximum consumption of 0.15 A at 24 V DC and has IPx7 protection. It includes 2 Ethernet ports (10/100) and a USB 2.0 port (max. 100 mA). Serial ports (RS-232, RS-485, RS-422, optically isolated) and two CAN bus ports (1 kV optical isolation) are also included.
Monitoring and user interface
This system provides detailed monitoring of essential vessel data, such as engine status and performance, tank levels (fuel, water), power management (DC and AC systems), and data from various sensors. The user interface is displayed via a side panel integrated into compatible MFDs, with information grouped by function (switching, propulsion, tanks) and shown in numerical or graphical format. An EGON synoptic page provides system layout information, including fuse and relay status, enabling quick diagnostics of issues.
Installation and advanced features
The system is designed for simplified installation with reduced wiring complexity. Connectivity is provided via an NMEA 2000 network and Ethernet. The system allows extensive customization of graphical elements (backgrounds, logos, boat names, day/night color schemes) and offers secure remote access via compatible PCs, smartphones, and tablets. Its integrated design helps minimize technical redundancy and duplication of devices onboard. The system complies with CE EMC Directive 2014/30/EU and is designed for operating temperatures from -15°C to +55°C (OP Box) and -40°C to +85°C (Egon+).
