Detailed description
Detailed description
The through-hull XSONIC Airmar B150M (12°) is designed for sport and commercial fishing applications on vessels up to 8 meters in length. This CHIRP bronze transducer balances deep penetration with target resolution, suitable for coastal fishing, estuaries, and freshwater in shallow to moderate depths.
CHIRP technology and performance
With 300 W of power, the Airmar B150M operates on a CHIRP mid-band frequency range of 95 to 155 kHz, providing a total bandwidth of 60 kHz. This CHIRP technology delivers clear target resolution, revealing fish at various depths down to a maximum of 183 meters. The transducer features a 12° tilted ceramic element that, when flush-mounted, corrects deadrise angle to direct the beam straight down. The beam has a 26° x 17° width at mid-frequency, focusing energy on targets for precise echo separation. It also provides rapid-response depth and water temperature data.
Design and installation
The B150M’s bronze housing is recommended for fiberglass or wooden hulls. Its Tilted Element™ through-hull design is specifically suited to hull deadrise angles between 8° and 15°. Installation requires a 51 mm (2-inch) borehole, and the transducer ships with a black 9-pin connector and a 10-meter cable. It is compatible with planing, displacement, and vee hulls and features Airmar’s patented Xducer ID® technology for transducer identification.
