Detailed description
Detailed description
The through-hull XSONIC Airmar B175M (20°) transducer is designed for fiberglass or wood hulls with a deadrise angle between 16° and 24°. This 1 kW CHIRP transducer features a fixed 20° tilted element, ensuring optimal beam orientation for maximum echo returns.
Mid-band CHIRP performance
Operating on a mid-band CHIRP frequency of 85 to 135 kHz, the B175M provides a total bandwidth of 50 kHz. This frequency range is suited for detecting fish and structures at depths up to 457 meters (1500 feet), with improved target resolution and detail separation. The beam angle ranges from 16° to 11°, offering coverage beneath the boat for coastal and offshore fishing applications.
Design and installation
Housed in a bronze casing, this transducer is specifically recommended for fiberglass or wood hulls, including vee-bottom, planing, and displacement hull types. Its low-profile design minimizes drag and ensures good display resolution even at high speeds. It integrates a fast-response depth and water temperature sensor. Connection is via a Navico 9-pin XSONIC connector with a 1.8-meter (6-foot) cable. Installation requires a 95 mm (3-3/4") hole in the hull. Xducer ID® technology enables automatic configuration and ceramic temperature monitoring with compatible displays. The transducer weighs approximately 2.7 kg (6 lbs).
