Detailed description
Detailed description
The XSONIC Airmar B45 thru-hull transducer is a compact and cost-effective solution designed for depth and water temperature detection. Ideal for fiberglass or wooden hulls, this transducer is suited for vessels up to 9 meters (30 feet). With its dual-frequency capability of 50/200 kHz and a power output of 600 W, it provides extended detection capabilities for navigation and fishing.
Acoustic performance and coverage
The XSONIC Airmar B45 operates on two distinct frequencies for enhanced versatility. At 50 kHz, it delivers a wide 45° beam with a maximum range of 366 meters (1,200 feet), suitable for deep-water searches. At 200 kHz, its 12° beam enables detailed detection up to 206 meters (700 feet), optimized for precise readings at shallower depths and structure detection. It includes a fast-response water temperature sensor with an accuracy of ±0.2°C (±0.1°F).
Design and installation
Constructed from bronze, this transducer is specifically recommended for fiberglass or wooden hulls to prevent electrolytic corrosion. Its thru-hull installation requires a 22 mm (7/8 inch) hole, and its active shaft measures 92 mm (3.62 inches). The included fairing block optimizes performance by aligning with the water flow, even at high speeds, and corrects hull angles up to 26° of deadrise. It comes with a 10-meter (33-foot) cable and a 9-pin Navico (xSonic) connector. Its weight is 2.5 kg (5.5 lbs).
