Designed for small boats up to 8 meters, the XSONIC Airmar B75M (12°) thru-hull transducer from NAVICO provides detailed sonar imaging for fishing and navigation. This model features a bronze housing, suitable for fiberglass or wooden hulls, and includes a 12° tilted ceramic element to correct the boat’s deadrise angle and direct the beam straight to the bottom.
CHIRP technology and performance
The Airmar B75M transducer uses CHIRP medium technology, operating on a frequency range of 80 to 130 kHz, offering a total bandwidth of up to 50 kHz. This technology delivers 5 to 10 times the resolution and detail compared to single-frequency transducers, improving the distinction between baitfish, gamefish, and underwater structures. With a power output of 600 W, it reaches a maximum depth of 274 meters (900 feet). Its beam width ranges from 24° to 16°, ensuring effective coverage.
Design and integration
This low-profile transducer is optimized for hulls with a deadrise angle between 8° and 15° at the mounting location. In addition to depth measurement, it includes a fast-response water temperature sensor. Airmar’s exclusive Xducer ID® technology enables automatic recognition by compatible fishfinders, simplifying setup. The bronze housing is designed for a discreet thru-hull installation requiring a 70 mm (2-13/16 inches) hole and weighs 1.4 kg (3 lbs). The urethane acoustic window ensures optimal signal transmission. A 10-meter (33 feet) cable with a 9-pin connector is included.
