Detailed description
Detailed description
The XSONIC Airmar SS260 through-hull transducer is a high-performance transducer designed for fish and underwater element detection on recreational and commercial vessels. Made of stainless steel, it is compatible with all hull types, including fiberglass, wood, aluminum, and steel, and ensures durability in demanding marine environments.
Acoustic performance and detailed coverage
With a power output of 1 kW, the SS260 operates on two distinct frequencies for versatile coverage. The 50 kHz frequency provides a wide 19° beam for deep-water detection up to 762 meters (2,500 feet), ideal for bottom and structure tracking. The 200 kHz frequency, with a narrow 6° beam, delivers superior target resolution and sharp imaging up to 294 meters (1,000 feet), facilitating fish identification near wrecks and reefs. The integration of Xducer ID® (or Navico XSonic) technology enables automatic recognition by compatible systems.
Installation and hull adaptation
The SS260 is a through-hull transducer, supplied with a high-performance fairing block. This fairing, designed to accommodate keel angles up to 20°, ensures accurate results even at high speeds, with reliable fishfinder data up to 30 knots (34 MPH) and an operating range from 1 to 45 knots. The required hole diameter is 33 mm (1-5/16") for fiberglass or wood hulls, and 35 mm (1-3/8") for metal hulls. The transducer also includes a rapid-response water temperature sensing feature.
