Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for optimal integration, the XSONIC Airmar SS60 (0°) through-hull transducer is a 600 W stainless steel solution. It provides accurate depth and water temperature readings via its dual 50/200 kHz frequencies. This model features a fixed 0° tilted element, specifically suited for hulls with a deadrise angle of 0° to 7°.
Sonar Performance and Versatility
The XSONIC Airmar SS60 (0°) operates on two distinct frequencies for comprehensive sonar coverage. The 50 kHz frequency offers a depth range up to 353 m (1,200 ft) with a 45° wide beam, ideal for deep-water detection. The 200 kHz frequency, with a narrower 12° beam, reaches a maximum depth of 206 m (700 ft), providing targeted detail for shallower water fishing. The Tilted Element™ technology corrects the deadrise angle by directing the beam straight to the bottom, ensuring precise and optimal echo returns.
Design and Installation
The stainless steel housing of the XSONIC Airmar SS60 (0°) ensures compatibility with all hull materials, including fiberglass, wood, and metal. Its low profile extends only 5 mm (3/16") below the hull, minimizing drag and not affecting boat performance. Installation requires a 60 mm (2-3/8") hole for fiberglass or wood hulls, and a 70 mm (2-3/4") hole for metal hulls. The transducer is recommended for boats up to 8 m (25 ft) and comes with a 10 m (33 ft) cable featuring a black 9-pin connector. The acoustic window is made of urethane, a durable and resistant material.
