The RAYMARINE T006 mast bracket with sliding mechanism is a dedicated mounting solution for navigation instruments, optimizing their visibility and accuracy on sailboats. Designed for direct integration into the mast profile, this accessory allows stable and vertical mounting of devices such as compasses or displays. Its sliding system ensures secure adjustment and methodical installation.
Installation and compatibility
Installing the T006 bracket is simplified through a multi-step process. The metal slider is inserted into the mast slot and secured with a first bolt. The bracket is then positioned and attached to the slider with a second bolt. After readjusting the first bolt and tightening both fastenings, the instrument cradle (supplied with the compass or relevant device) is mounted onto the bracket using stainless steel bolts. This method guarantees a rigid fixation, essential for the reliability of displayed data.
Usage precautions
For instruments like the compass, specific mounting guidelines must be followed: a maximum tilt of 20° from vertical is permitted, and it is imperative not to tilt the device to port or starboard. Additionally, to avoid interference, the instrument must not be mounted less than 0.6 meters (2 feet) from magnetic objects. As a conventional compass is itself a magnetic object, this distance must be carefully considered to maintain equipment accuracy.
