Detailed description
Detailed description
The Raymarine T1 24V reversible pump (M81119) is a critical component of Raymarine autopilot systems, designed to operate the steering mechanism of vessels. It is specifically intended for boats equipped with an existing hydraulic steering system but can also be used on mechanically steered vessels in conjunction with a secondary steering cylinder. This model, the Type 1 in 24V version, stands within the Raymarine range for its ability to handle hydraulic cylinders from 80 to 230 cc, positioning itself between the Type 0.5 (50-110 cc) and the Type 2 (230-350 cc), offering a solution suited to medium-sized steering systems.
Performance and technical design
The core of the M81119 pump is a 24V permanent magnet DC motor capable of delivering a maximum intermittent pressure of 55 bar (800 psi). Its peak flow rate reaches 1000 cc/min at idle, with a typical consumption of 9A at 24V and 55 bar. The design includes pilot-operated check valves that prevent backflow from the pump through the manual steering system or rudder load. The motors are IP67 certified, ensuring protection against temporary immersion and dust, and can be removed from the pump without introducing air into the hydraulic system or causing fluid leakage. The pump is compatible with balanced or unbalanced cylinders and can be used with pressurized reservoir systems.
Installation and compliance
With dimensions of 58.4 mm (A) and 203 mm (B), the pump is designed for installation below deck on a solid structure to minimize vibrations and avoid heat sources or confined areas containing flammable materials. All ports are in 1/4 inch BSPP format. Installation requires absolute cleanliness of the hydraulic system to ensure proper operation of the check valves. The M81119 pump complies with EMC regulations (2004/108/EC, EN60945:2002) and RCD (94/25/EC, EN28846:1993 & EN ISO 10592:1995), ensuring adequate electromagnetic integration in the marine environment. The product is supplied with the hydraulic pump, three 1/4 inch BSP rubber/metal seals, and, if necessary, three BSP to NPT 1/4 inch adapters.
