Detailed description
Detailed description
TE Connectivity Raychem ATUM dual-wall heat-shrink tubing, cross-linked polyolefin with a hot-melt inner wall. Diameter 8 mm before shrink, 2 mm after, 4:1 shrink ratio, length 1.2 m.
What the inner wall does
When heated, the outer wall shrinks while the inner wall melts and flows. Upon cooling, it bonds the tubing to the substrate, creating a continuous seal with no moisture entry points—unlike a single-wall tubing that only clamps mechanically. The adhesive bonds to PVC, polyethylene, rubber, and aluminum.
Installation temperatures
Shrink starts around 80 °C, but full overlap requires 125 °C. Aim for 125 °C with a heat gun; stopping at 110 °C yields partial shrink and incomplete bonding. Once installed, the tubing withstands continuous service from −55 °C to +110 °C.

What the datasheet doesn’t say
TE provides fluid resistance data for diesel, hydraulic fluid, and lubricating oil after 24 h at 23 °C. No UV resistance data is published for this range: on exposed decks, treat the tubing as a seal rather than a durable surface protection. The reference is available in black only.
