Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for sport and commercial vessels 8 meters (25 feet) and larger, the XSONIC Airmar PM275LH-W is a 1 kW dual-band CHIRP transducer. It provides detailed depth detection and rapid water temperature measurement. Its bronze construction with urethane acoustic window is specifically intended for installations on solid fiberglass hulls.
Dual-band CHIRP performance
The PM275LH-W operates on two distinct frequency bands for extended coverage. The low-frequency band, from 42 to 65 kHz, offers a variable beam width of 25° to 16° and can reach a maximum depth of 914 meters (3000 feet). The high-frequency band, from 150 to 250 kHz, maintains a constant beam width of 25° across its range, providing a maximum depth of 152 meters (500 feet). This combination delivers a total coverage of 123 kHz from a single transducer.
Technical specifications and installation
The XSONIC Airmar PM275LH-W stands out for its high-frequency wide-beam design, which provides twice the coverage under the boat compared to narrow-beam transducers. This results in improved resolution, optimized performance in shallow water, enhanced bottom detail, and better target separation. The 1 kW low-frequency power ensures accurate bottom tracking in deep water. Compatible with common fishing frequencies such as 50 kHz and 200 kHz, it also features Airmar’s patented Xducer ID® technology for transducer identification. Weighing 5.3 kg (11.6 lbs), it comes with two black 9-pin connectors and a 10-meter (33-foot) cable. It mounts via a pocket or keel, with custom installation allowing for any hull angle. An NSSevo3S or S5100 sounder module is required for operation. Airmar certifies that applying a Foulfree coating does not degrade the transducer’s performance.
