Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for sailboats and powerboats, the AIRMAR DST810 multisensor transducer provides depth, speed through water, and temperature data, enhanced by boat attitude information via NMEA 2000. This through-hull transducer integrates Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) wireless connectivity for advanced calibration and simplified configuration.
Technical Features and Performance
The DST810 operates at 235 kHz, helping to prevent interference with other depth sounders on board. It delivers depth measurements up to 100 meters via NMEA 2000, with a minimum range of 0.5 meters and data updates once per second. Speed through water is measured from 0.3 to 45 knots. With a refresh rate of 5.7 Hz, speed readings are visibly smoother and more responsive. The water temperature sensor operates from -10°C to 40°C with an accuracy of ±0.5°C.
Innovation and Advanced Calibration
The integrated attitude sensor for heel and trim, with a nominal accuracy of +/- 1° after calibration, enables advanced speed corrections. This feature, combined with the AIRMAR CAST™ app via Bluetooth, offers heel-compensated speed calibration across multiple angles and speed ranges (up to 10 speeds). Previously limited to expensive PC software, this capability is now accessible via a mobile device. All speed calibrations and NMEA configurations are stored directly in the DST810 sensor, ensuring independence from onboard instruments.
Design and System Integration
The DST810 uses a Gen2 paddlewheel for responsive speed performance, providing ultra-responsive readings from 0.3 knots and linearity at 0.6 knots. Its 10 x 44-degree fan beam is designed to maintain a stable bottom lock on deep-keel hulls or heeling sailboats, and is compatible with hull inclinations up to 22°. Power is supplied via the NMEA 2000 network (9 VDC to 16 VDC, drawing less than 200 mA). The sensor ships with a 6-meter DeviceNet cable. Compared to simpler NMEA 2000 transducers from the same brand or competitors, the DST810 is an advanced all-in-one solution, eliminating the need for separate attitude sensors and simplifying complex calibration via its wireless interface.
