Detailed description
Detailed description
The AIRMAR TM150M is a CHIRP transducer for transom mounting, designed for accurate depth and temperature sensing. Operating in the mid-frequency range from 95 to 155 kHz, it delivers 300 W (with a 1% duty cycle) in pulsed mode and 5 W in CW. This frequency range is optimized to balance deep-sounding capability with detail resolution, offering better range than high frequencies and better resolution than low frequencies.
Performance and beam coverage
With a total bandwidth of 60 kHz from a single transducer, the TM150M achieves a maximum depth of 183 m (600 ft). Its CHIRP design delivers clear images even at high boat speeds. The beam provides 7 m coverage under the boat (at 15 m depth), extending to 70 m (at 152 m depth). The beam angle ranges from 26° (-3 dB) at 100 kHz to 17° (-3 dB) at 155 kHz, adapting to different detection conditions.
Installation and design
Designed for transom mounting, it allows adjustable tilt angles from 3° to 20° to suit various hull configurations and optimize performance up to 44 knots (50 mph). Installation requires drilling 4 mm holes for the bracket, with a 3 mm sensor projection below the lower edge of the transom for optimal detection. Note that mounting this transducer inside the hull is not recommended to avoid overheating. Recommended for boats up to 8 m (25 ft).
