Detailed description
Detailed description
The B&G Triton² speed/depth pack (000-13298-003) is a complete solution for measuring essential navigation data. It includes a 4.1-inch Triton² display, the Airmar DST820 multisensor transducer, and a NMEA 2000 Micro-C starter kit for simplified network integration.
Airmar DST820 Multisensor Transducer: Precision and Safety
The Airmar DST820 multisensor transducer represents the latest evolution in Airmar technology, replacing the DST810 with PSTI compliance for enhanced network security. Installation is streamlined via a secure QR code and a unique password to protect the device on the NMEA 2000 network. This transducer measures speed through water, depth, and water temperature.
Speed Performance and Advanced Calibration
Equipped with Airmar’s Gen2 paddle wheel, the DST820 delivers speed accuracy from 0.3 to 45 knots, with linearity starting at 0.6 knots and responsiveness from 0.3 knots. The 5.7 Hz (5 times per second) speed data output ensures smooth display and high responsiveness. Calibration can be performed via the Airmar CAST™ smartphone or tablet app, offering basic and advanced calibration options previously available only through costly PC software.
Depth Measurement and System Integration
The DST820 provides reliable depth tracking from 0.5 m (1.6 ft) to 100 m (328 ft). The transducer is powered between 9 VDC and 16 VDC via the NMEA 2000 network, with a power consumption of less than 200 mA. It features Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) wireless connectivity with a range up to 9 meters (30 feet). A self-sealing valve system minimizes water entry when removing the insert. The pack includes a 6-meter NMEA 2000 DeviceNet cable. Compliance with CE (IEC 60945) and a NMEA 2000 LEN of 2 ensure reliable and safe integration.
