Detailed description
Detailed description
The B&G StructureScan Skimmer transducer, part number 000-10802-001, is a transducer dedicated to high-resolution underwater imaging for compatible B&G multifunction displays. Designed to deliver photographic-quality images of the seabed, it incorporates SideScan and DownScan Imaging™ technologies for precise detection of structures and fish.
StructureScan HD Imaging
This transducer provides clear, detailed views of the underwater environment. SideScan technology scans the port and starboard sides of your boat, revealing submerged structures, drop-offs, and schools of fish with exceptional clarity. The DownScan Imaging™ feature offers a precise vertical view directly below the hull, making it easier to identify targets and distinguish between different seabed types. Unlike the StructureScan 3D model, this version focuses on high-definition 2D imaging.
Frequencies and performance
The StructureScan Skimmer transducer operates on two distinct frequencies to adapt to different conditions. The 455 kHz frequency offers extended range for maximum lateral coverage, ideal for rapid surveys. The 800 kHz frequency provides superior image resolution and maximum detail, optimized for shallow depths and precise target identification.
Installation and positioning within the range
The skimmer-style design allows for multiple mounting options, including transom, step, or jackplate installation to accommodate most hull configurations. This transducer is specifically designed for imaging and must be paired with a separate Broadband/CHIRP transducer to obtain traditional sonar data. This distinguishes it from the TotalScan™ all-in-one transducer, which combines all technologies (CHIRP, DownScan, SideScan) into a single unit.
